SPOKANE, Wash – Thursday was a frustrating day to fly in the Pacific Northwest, as storms in Seattle led to the cancelation and delays of hundreds of flights.
A strong weather system brought thunderstorms into the Seattle area mid-morning. Seattle-Tacoma International Airport posted that the airport was under a ground stop around 11 am.
The airport also posted on X that flights were delayed and canceled.
FlightAware shows more than 550 flights were delayed or canceled at SeaTac. That ripple effect extended into Spokane.
FlightAware shows nearly 40 delays or cancellations to and from Spokane International Airport.
By mid-afternoon, several arriving flights were still delayed into and out of Spokane.
