SPOKANE, Wash. — The Spokane Airport is getting a taste of local flavor with two new restaurant concepts opening their doors to travelers.
Iron Goat Brewing, the craft brewery and pizzeria founded in 2012, opened earlier this month at the newly expanded C Concourse. The restaurant is known for its signature pizzas and local craft beer selection, and the airport location will feature exclusive menu items not available at its downtown Spokane location.
One of those exclusive offerings is the Jet Way Lager, a special beer that Iron Goat is only serving at the airport.
“Opening down here is really great in the sense that we get to have contact with more people that are not from Spokane,” said Greg Brandt, owner of Iron Goat Brewing. “We kinda get to share what Spokane is all about to the people who are traveling to and from here.”
Meanwhile, Jack and Dan’s, another well-established Spokane restaurant, is preparing to open this week at the A Concourse. The new airport location will introduce the local favorite to travelers who may not be familiar with the brand while also expanding its menu with new offerings including breakfast items and flatbreads.
Kevin McDonald, co-owner of Jack and Dan’s, said the goal is to give airport customers an enjoyable experience. “Enjoy the food, have a beer before you get on your flight and just talk about the trip you are about to have and other trips you plan,” McDonald said.
Both restaurant openings are part of a broader initiative by the Spokane Airport and its master concessionaire SSP to bring more local businesses and regional character to the terminal.
Additional local businesses are planned for the airport as part of the expansion, with Shelby’s Burgers scheduled to open at the A-B Rotunda in December.
