SPOKANE, Wash.– While it won’t be a total eclipse, most of the moon will turn red as it rises over Spokane on Thursday evening.
The eclipse will already be in progress as the moon rises and the sun sets, but it won’t peak until between 9 and 9:30 tonight. Clouds are forecast to be clearing during the evening, but smoke may slightly obscure your view.
The eclipse concludes at 10:51, when the last sliver of moon emerges from Earth’s shadow. This partial lunar eclipse will be the closest we get to a total eclipse in our area until 2029.
