OKANOGAN COUNTY, Wash. — Detectives are investigating a deadly hit-and-run crash in Okanogan County on State Route 97 on Saturday, according to Washington State Patrol.
Around 7 p.m. on November 1, WSP responded to a reported vehicle-vs-pedestrian crash involving three cars on SR-97 near milepost 265, about 30 miles north of Chelan.
According to WSP, 64-year-old Annette Gorr was standing in the northbound lane of SR-97 near milepost 265. It is unknown why she was standing in the lane.
An SUV traveling north attempted to avoid Gorr, but was unsuccessful and hit her, before stopping in the northbound lane.
A second, unknown car, also traveling north, then hit Gorr and drove away from the scene.
Shortly afterwards, a Kia Soul with three occupants, including a nine-month-old, also struck Gorr. The Kia continued driving north before being stopped by law enforcement.
Gorr was pronounced dead at the scene.
WSP said drugs or alcohol are suspected to have been involved in the crash, but did not specify who might have been under the influence.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation and, as of Sunday afternoon, no charges have been filed.
