DOUGLAS COUNTY, Wash. — A fifth suspect is in custody as the investigation into the deadly Chelan Hills Fire continues, according to KOMO News.
KOMO reports the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said U.S. Marshals arrested a 19-year-old man late Thursday in Pierce County.
The man was booked into the Pierce County Jail before Douglas County detectives took custody of him Friday morning, according to the sheriff’s office.
Investigators said fireworks ignited dry grass along the roadway, sparking the Chelan Hills Fire.
Douglas County Sheriff Tyler Caille told KOMO News the 19-year-old was in the truck when the fire began.
The man’s name has not been released because he has not been formally charged.
