SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane Mayor Lisa Brow has ordered flags at all city facilities to be lowered to half-staff in remembrance of Dolly Parton.
“From Eastern Washington to East Tennessee, Spokane sends its deepest condolences to all those who knew and loved Dolly Parton. She was one of a kind, and she will be missed,” Mayor Lisa Brown said.
Dolly Parton passed away on Tuesday at her home. She was 80 years old.
She was a country music legend, philanthropist and an advocate for the LGBTQ+ community and public health.
Flags will remain at half-staff until close of business on September 1. Mayor Brown encourages anyone with a flag outside their home or business to join in with this recognition of Parton’s memory.
