Hot weather continues for a third straight day in the Inland Northwest, while we get set for dangerous fire weather on Saturday.

High temperatures Friday will be back into the mid 90s to low 100s for a third straight day. Winds will increase through the Cascade gaps and Columbia Basin with sustained speeds of 10 to 15 mph and gusts to 25 mph. A Red Flag Warning is in effect for North Central Washington. Wildfire smoke will continue to create hazy skies throughout Friday, but air quality will generally improve through the day today. Keep the windows closed tonight however, there’s likely to be a few hours of overnight smoke.
What We’re Tracking
Saturday brings even greater fire weather concerns. It’s a 4 News Now Weather Alert Day. Wind gusts will jump to 30 to 40 mph regionwide Saturday afternoon. Even though it will be cooler with highs in the upper 80s and low 90s, humidity will still be more than dry enough to encourage extreme fire behavior.
Conditions turn much calmer and cooler Sunday through Wednesday with highs staying in the 80s and overnight lows in the 50s.
