PULLMAN, Washington — A man wanted in connection with a shooting in Pasco was arrested Tuesday night in Pullman after a multi-agency SWAT operation, according to the Pullman Police Department.
Osman Morales-Salto was taken into custody without incident at the Aspen Heights apartment complex after several hours of surveillance, according to Pullman Police Chief Aaron Breshears.
Morales-Salto faces six counts of first-degree assault related to a shooting that occurred early Sunday morning in Pasco, police said. An active warrant for his arrest carries a $5 million bond.
The Pullman Police Department received communication from Pasco police at approximately 8 p.m. Tuesday that the wanted suspect was believed to be in the Aspen Heights area, according to the release.
The Whitman County Regional SWAT Team responded alongside the Pasco Street Crimes Unit and Latah County Regional SWAT Team, police said.
The operation required evacuating residents from the 100 address buildings within the complex while authorities secured the scene, according to police.
According to the Pullman Police Department the area has been secured, and all residents can return to their homes.
The case will move forward through the court system, with Morales-Salto charged with six counts of first-degree assault, according to police.
Officers will remain at the scene for several hours while the Pasco Police Department processes the area and gathers evidence.
