SPOKANE, Wash. — Rogers High School was placed on lockdown this afternoon, due to reports of a person in the parking lot with a gun. The lockdown delayed the release of students today.
SPS shared this message that was sent to all Rogers HS families and staff at 2:38 p.m.:
“Rogers High School is now out of lockdown, and students are being released at the end of the school day.
Spokane Police reviewed available footage and found no indication of an individual with a weapon. Police then authorized the school to end the lockdown and proceed with dismissal. SPD will remain on site as students are dismissed out of an abundance of caution.
Bus transportation is also resuming, though some students may experience delays in arriving home.
Thank you for your patience and understanding,
Spokane Public Schools”
