PULLMAN, Wash. — Pullman police arrested a 24-year-old man Monday in connection with a sexual assault that occurred early Saturday morning.
Alexander T. Murphy was taken into custody and booked into the Whitman County Jail without incident following his arrest on charges of rape in the second degree and assault in the second degree, according to the Pullman Police Department.
The investigation began in the early morning hours of Saturday, August 29, when officers received a report of a sexual assault that occurred around 2 a.m. in the 900 block of NE Colorado Street.
Murphy met with officers on Monday afternoon and was arrested without incident. Police say no additional suspects remain outstanding in connection with the assault.
There is no ongoing risk to the public according to the Pullman Police Department.
