VANCOUVER, BC – Spokane Chiefs prospect Gavin Burcar capped off an impressive Hlinka-Gretzky Cup with another assist Saturday night, but Team USA fell to Canada 8-1 in the championship game.
Burcar finished the tournament as Team USA’s top scorer, recording five goals and five assists for 9 points.
The forward was a consistent offensive presence throughout the tournament, helping the United States reach the gold-medal game before Canada pulled away.
Burcar’s five goals were tied with the team lead, while his 10 points made him Team USA’s most productive player during the tournament.
Despite the loss in the final, Burcar leaves the Hlinka-Gretzky Cup with a strong showing against some of the top under-18 talent in the world.
Burcar is expected to continue his development with the Spokane Chiefs, who selected him in the 2026 WHL Draft.
