SPOKANE COUNTY — Three Spokane-area courts will resume normal operations Wednesday following the Spokane Area Fire emergency, though jury trials will remain suspended through at least August 17, according to an updated emergency order issued Tuesday.
Spokane County Superior Court, Spokane County District Court, and the City of Spokane Municipal Court announced Emergency Order No. 2026-02, outlining adjusted operations in response to the fire.
All criminal and civil jury trials scheduled to begin between August 3 and August 14 have been rescheduled to Monday, August 17. Jurors previously summoned for trials set for August 10 have been excused, according to the order.
The courts said the fire situation remains fluid and will be regularly reassessed. Any further adjustments to operations will be communicated through a new order.
“The courts continue to prioritize the safety of jurors, litigants, attorneys, staff, and the public while maintaining essential functions,” according to a joint statement from the three courts.
