Man suspected of starting Old Trails Fire will stay in custody at Spokane County Jail on $1 million bond, judge decides

SPOKANE, Wash. — The man suspected of starting the devastating Old Trails Fire in Spokane will be staying in custody at the Spokane County Jail with a $1 million bond, a Spokane County Superior Court judge decided during the first appearance on Tuesday.

Aaron Faranicci will also be required to stay within Spokane County and not have access to any lighters or fire starting equipment. He will also not be allowed to contact any witnesses or victims listed on the affidavit.

The Spokane County Court has scheduled Faranicci’s arraignment to take place at 3 p.m. on Thursday, August 6.
