SPOKANE, Wash – Spokane County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a stabbing Saturday morning in Colbert, north of Spokane.
This incident is believed to be a result of a road rage incident according to the Spokane County Sherrif’s Office.
For most of the morning, deputies blocked the road at North Newport Highway and North Elk-Chattaroy Road. People trying to access the North Spokane Transfer Station were told they could not access the facility from the north end.
Deputies said that intersection would be reopened by this evening.
Deputies on the scene confirmed there was a stabbing. They said it was not a random act and they don’t believe there’s an active threat.
They told a 4 News Now reporter at the scene that the victim survived their injuries.
The adult male victim sustained potential life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital according to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff’s vehicles also surround a nearby home. While they declined to give specifics, deputies at the scene confirmed the home is connected to the stabbing scene.
A possible suspect has been identified but has not been located at this time.
This remains an active investigation.
