PULLMAN, Wash. – Every season since 1917, Washington State and Washington faced off in men’s basketball.
That streak is now over.
WSU and UW will not play a regular-season game this season, as the Cougs reportedly were up to play, but the Huskies denied, and the schools will play an October exhibition game instead.
The series ends after 300 games, with UW the winner of the previous three dates after three straight WSU wins. UW leads the series, 189-111.
Both programs come off below-average seasons. UW has a game against Baylor in Seattle and the Maui Invitational, while WSU will play Duke, Idaho, Eastern Washington, and four other non-conference games set.
