SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The FIFA World Cup dream lives on for the United States, as they defeat Bosnia and Herzegovina, 2-0, behind goals from Folarin Balogun and Malik Tillman.
Balogun scored his third of the tournament just a few minutes after another goal got called offside. Balogun also picked up a straight red card on a controversial tackle, where his boot caught the ankle of a Bosnian player. The American star will not be able to play in the next round.
Tillman scored from a free kick not long after, safely putting this game to rest.
The USA plays Belgium in a 2014 FIFA World Cup Round of 16 rematch, the match kicking off at 5:00 p.m. next Monday in Seattle.
