SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane Police is investigating a shooting that left a juvenile injured early Monday morning.
According to SPD, officers were called out to the area of North Calispel Street around 12:45 a.m. on Monday. Multiple callers and on-duty officers in the area said they heard gunshots. Some 911 callers said they saw a group of people running and a vehicle leaving the area.
When officers arrived, they found several shell casings in the street.
Just after 1 a.m., a hospital nurse called 911 saying a juvenile showed up with gunshot wounds. SPD went to the hospital to speak with the victim and other witnesses.
SPD’s Major Crimes Unit and Gun Crime Unit have taken over the investigation.
Investigators say this appears to be an isolated event and the people involved seemed to know each other. There is not currently any threat to the public.
The shooting is still under investigation.
