PULLMAN, Wash. — Pullman residents can buy fireworks starting Monday, July 1, but the city strictly limits when and where they can be used.
Fireworks may only be discharged within city limits on July 3 from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. and July 4 from 9 a.m. to midnight. Violations carry a $100 civil penalty.
Personal fireworks are prohibited at Sunnyside Park, all Pullman School District properties and all City of Pullman properties.
Washington State law requires fireworks to be purchased from a licensed retail stand — online purchases are prohibited.
Firecrackers and bottle rockets are illegal statewide, and possession of illegal fireworks is a criminal misdemeanor.
Fireworks cause hundreds of injuries and fires across Washington each year. Officers will actively patrol for violations throughout the holiday weekend.
