WASHINGTON STATE — Anglers have just weeks to catch a green-tagged rainbow trout and win prizes at Washington’s annual Trout Derby, which ends October 31.
The competition is simple: catch a tagged trout at one of more than 100 stocked lakes across Washington. No entry fee. No registration. Just a valid 2026 fishing license—free for children under 16.
Why now?
Autumn is prime fishing season with sunny weather and cooler temperatures. With October 31 approaching, anglers have roughly three weeks to fish.
