HOPE, Idaho — A head-on collision on State Highway 200 in Bonner County sent three people to the hospital Tuesday morning after a pickup truck crossed the center line and struck an oncoming vehicle near milepost 44.7.
The crash occurred at approximately 9:37 a.m. on June 23, 2026, near Hope, Idaho.
The collision blocked SH200 for approximately three hours. Authorities diverted traffic onto W. Main Street during that time.
A 31-year-old Oldtown man was driving a white Ford F150 eastbound on SH200 with a 35-year-old male passenger from Sandpoint. A 72-year-old Clark Fork man was driving a white Chevrolet Silverado westbound on the same highway when the Ford crossed left of center and struck the Silverado head-on.
The driver and passenger of the Ford were transported to a nearby hospital by air ambulance. The Silverado’s driver was transported to a nearby hospital by ground ambulance.
Idaho State Police confirmed that both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. The Ford’s passenger was not wearing a seatbelt.
The crash remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
