SPOKANE, Wash – From the late 90s until now, she’s been a voice during the Inland Northwest’s most important events. Now, 4 News Now anchor Robyn Nance is being recognized for her work.
Friday, Robyn will join several broadcasters from across the northwest as she’s inducted into the Silver Circle for the Northwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. That’s the organization that also presents the Emmy Awards each year.
The Silver Circle recognizes people who began their careers in television at least 25 years ago, either in a performing, creative, technical or administrative role within the industry or in an area related to television such as TV journalism education, advertising, promotion, and public relations.
Robyn began her broadcasting career in her home state of Missouri right after graduating from college. She came west to Spokane in 1996 and began her northwest career at KREM-TV in Spokane.
She then came to 4 News Now in early 2003, serving as the evening news anchor. She’s spent the last 14 years anchoring Good Morning Northwest.
She has been a trusted voice during fast-moving wildfires, decisive political seasons and the COVID-19 pandemic. She was the only television journalist in the area to be allowed inside an ICU during the pandemic. That award-winning Inside the ICU coverage showcased stories from medical professionals, working in difficult conditions, even as people in their own lives doubted the severity of the pandemic.
In addition to her job, Robyn has raised three children in the Inland Northwest.
Robyn showcased hundreds of foster children in need of families as part of her Wednesday’s Child segment.
In 2007, she co-founded Teen and Kid Closet, a non-profit that provides clothes to children in need, focusing much of that attention on foster kids.
Robyn gives back to the community throughout the year, serving on non-profit boards and emceeing charity events.
Robyn will accept the induction during a ceremony in Seattle Friday night.
