DESERT AIRE, WA — A man was seriously injured in a shooting at a Desert Aire gas station Saturday evening, and he’s still in critical condition this morning.
The Grant County Sheriff’s Office got the call just before 5:30 p.m. and rushed deputies to the Shell gas station on Desert Aire Drive Southwest. That’s a small community along the Columbia River, just a few miles south of Mattawa.
When first responders arrived, they found the 22-year-old man badly hurt. He was quickly airlifted to a hospital outside of Desert Aire for emergency treatment.
Right now, deputies and detectives are still patrolling the area, looking for any clues and trying to track down whoever is responsible for the shooting.
