STEVENS COUNTY, Wash. — With the weather warming, it’s the perfect time to get outside and tidy up your yard.
April is Landfill Chipper Month in Stevens County.
Every Thursday, Friday and Saturday during the month of April, locals are invited to drop off their clean wood waste for free at the Kettle Falls Landfill.
Acceptable materials include:
Tree branches and limbs no longer than 6′ Shrubs and brushLeavesPine needles and small branchesWood chips and barkDried/aged slash
Unacceptable materials include:
Grass clippingsWeeds (including invasive species) Leaves mixed with trash/plastic bagsDirt, sod or rocksStumps, large logs or root ballsLumber with nails, paint or treatment Food waste or kitchen scrapsPet waste or manurePlastic bags, trash or recyclables
Waste can be dropped off every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. at 1257 Landfill Road in Kettle Falls throughout the month of April.
