KOOTENAI COUNTY, Idaho – Kootenai County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man they suspect of breaking into cars throughout the Hayden area.
Deputies arrested 44-year-old Kenneth Mott. They say he admitted breaking into multiple vehicles and stealing property from them.
They caught up with Mott after someone on N. Sunview Lane saw someone breaking into a neighbor’s car.
Deputies found a car matching the description of what the suspect was driving and pulled him over. They say during the stop, they could see several items they believe were stolen.
After his arrest, deputies drove Mott through the area and said he pointed out several vehicles he had broken into.
Mott was booked into the county jail Sunday. In the days since, deputies say they’ve received several more reports of car break-ins in that area.
