POST FALLS, Idaho – Three Post Falls Police officers fired shots at a man early Sunday morning. They say the man, who died in the shooting, first fired shots at them.
Police identified the man who died as 46-year-old Timothy J. Amundson.
Officers encountered Amundson Sunday morning after receiving reports that a man was suicidal and also threatening family members.
When four Post Falls officers got to the home on Foxglove Lane, they say Amundson shot at them. Three officers returned fire, hitting Amundson. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
