SPOKANE, Wash. — A public memorial service is being held this week for former Whitman County Sheriff Brett Myers.
Myers died last week from a rare, aggressive neurological disease just days after announcing his resignation as sheriff. He served as sheriff for more than 20 years. Myers died at 56.
Washington State University says a public memorial will take place at 1 p.m. at Beasley Coliseum Friday, November 6.
WSU police expect significant traffic around the arena, and people in the area should plan accordingly.
