SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — A Canadian man was arrested for firing off a gun through the floor of a rented studio on East Sprague Avenue on Friday.
According to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, 29-year-old Richard R. Roseborough is suspected of firing a shot into the ceiling of his rented studio at around 3:30 a.m. on Friday.
The woman living in the studio above him woke up from a loud noise, but went back to bed. When she awoke later that day, she called employees, who saw what appeared to be a gunshot hole in the floor near the bed.
Roseborough was detained by deputies that afternoon when he returned to the property. He admitted to buying a gun in New Mexico, even though he knew as a Canadian citizen that he could not legally own one.
In his room, deputies also found a white powder believed to be drugs and other drug paraphernalia.
Roseborough was arrested and booked into Spokane County Jail for malicious mischief, aiming and disarming a firearm, reckless endangerment and possession of a controlled substance.
No one was hurt in this incident.
