PULLMAN, Wash. — Washington State University released a statement regarding the Protecting College Sports Act making its way through the Senate Monday evening.
“Today marks an important turning point for thousands of young people in America,” the statement said. “For too long, institutions and student-athletes have navigated a system defined by uncertainty, fragmented rules, and growing competitive disparities. The Senate’s passage of the Protect College Sports Act is a significant step toward a more consistent national framework that puts students first while creating greater long-term stability for colleges and universities. Washington State University appreciates Senator Maria Cantwell’s leadership on this matter and looks forward to working with Congress and stakeholders to ensure the final legislation reflects the needs of student-athletes and institutions across the country.”
