BONNERS FERRY, Idaho — Do you want to sharpen your bear safety skills this weekend at a free community event?
The North Idaho Bear Fair runs from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Boundary County Fairgrounds.
There will be a remote-controlled charging grizzly bear, where participants practice drawing and firing bear spray under genuine pressure. People who complete the training receives a free canister of bear spray while supplies last.
The fair also offers electric fencing demonstrations, information about Idaho Fish and Game’s livestock carcass pickup program, camping safety guidance and a community cider press where attendees can bring apples and leave with fresh cider.
