NINE MILE FALLS, Wash. — Friday night football is bringing some extra funding to Lakeside High School.
Lakeside High School in Nine Mile Falls has been awarded $5,000 through T-Mobile’s Friday Night 5G Lights program.
The initiative provides funding directly to high schools and communities nationwide through a shared connection to Friday night football.
Lakeside could also be in the running for an even bigger prize. T-Mobile will announce its Top 40 finalist schools on Oct. 8.
Those finalists will then compete for a $1 million stadium transformation, with public voting helping determine which schools advance.
T-Mobile says the program will award a total of $8 million in prizes to schools across the country.
For Lakeside, the $5,000 award provides immediate funding while the school awaits word on whether it will advance to the next stage of the competition.
