SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash – Spokane Valley Police are investigating what the agency calls the “unexpected death” of a 7-year-old boy Friday.
Deputies were called to a home in the 2700 block of N. Cherry Street around 3:50 Friday afternoon. That’s an area just east of Pines and north of Mansfield.
They found a 7-year-old boy dead at the home.
“Initial information indicates the child had been sick and had vomited during the evening, but he had no known health issues that could cause his sudden death,” the sheriff’s office said in a news release.
They called the death unattended, which is the term investigators use when the death is sudden/unexpected and the person is not otherwise receiving direct medical care.
Detectives are working with the Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office to determine a cause and manner of death. The ME’s office is also who will release the child’s name.
