SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit is investigating two suspicious deaths on the 5400 block of N. Cook St.
On August 12th, 2026, around 1:00 p.m., Spokane Police officers responded to the area to investigate an unattended death.
When officers arrived, they say a person was found dead in a detached garage.
Major Crimes Unit responded and while serving a search warrant at the home, they located a different deceased individual in a locked bedroom.
Police say it appears the two deaths are connected, and that one of the deaths was by criminal means. The investigation is ongoing.
No arrests have been made. Spokane Police Department say there is no threat to the public.
A woman who claims to be the wife of the man found dead in the home told a reporter that she had found him and believes he accidently tripped.
She also said that she believes the other body found that was found in the garage was an overdose.
The Medical Examiner’s Office will release the identity and cause of death at a later date.
