SPOKANE, Wash. — Favorable weather conditions for firefighters helped them make significant progress on the Spokane area wildfires.
According to crews at Incident Command, firefighters have gained some containment on the Old Trails, Fairview, and Autumn Lane fires.
Firefighters estimate they’ve gained 5% containment on the Fairview Fire and 13% for both the Old Trails and Autumn Lane fires.
In addition, fire lines have been fully drawn around all three fires which will allow them to gain additional containment in the coming days.
Firefighters are hopeful they will be able to further downgrade evacuation levels and allow more people to return home this afternoon.
