SPOKANE, Wash. — Amazon announced it is providing more than 26,000 emergency supplies to people impacted by the wildfires in Spokane.
These include things such as air purifiers, masks, diapers, hygiene kits, gloves, boots, and hydration packs.
Amazon says the emergency supplies for families and firefighters are expected to arrive on August 4 from the company’s Wildfire Relief hub in California. Another wave of donated supplies will soon follow.
“Washington is home to Amazon and to tens of thousands of our employees. As the situation evolves, we remain committed to supporting our employees and the wider community affected by the Spokane wildfires,” said Amazon Head of Disaster Relief Abe Diaz. “We will continue to closely monitor the situation and take the necessary precautions to remain safe, while supporting relief efforts in coordination with community partners and humanitarian organizations in the coming weeks. We encourage everyone to prioritize safety and follow guidance from local emergency officials.”
