TEKOA, Wash – A dispute between neighbors ended in a shooting Friday evening in Tekoa. Now, one neighbor is under arrest for assault.
Whitman County deputies say a man called 911 Friday evening to report that he fired his gun several times and may have shot his neighbor.
When deputies arrived, they found a man with a grazing wound to the neck. The man was taken to the hospital, but later released.
Deputies contacted the man who called 911, identified as Robert Soumokil, at his home on North Sheridan Street.
Deputies say Soumokil was cooperative during his arrest on a first degree assault charge.
The sheriff’s office says the shooting happened as part of an ongoing dispute between the neighbors over boundary issues.
