WHITMAN COUNTY, Wash. — UPDATE, 5 P.M. Fire officials say some evacuations in Whitman County for the Lyons Ferry Fire are being lowered.
Whitman County at Hooper to Flemming Road has been lowered to Level 2 (GET SET) evacuations. This means people in the area should be ready to leave at a moment’s notice, and evacuate if you feel unsafe or need extra time.
Level 1 (BE READY) evacuations are still in place in Whitman County for Highway 127 to Central Ferry, including the area of Dusty.

State Parks near the Lyons Ferry fire have reopened Sunday afternoon while firefighters continue making progress containing the fires.
According to the Southeast Washington Interagency Team, the Lyons Ferry State Park, Palouse Falls State Park and the Snake River Junction Trailhead on the Columbia Plateau have reopened as of noon on Sunday.
Level 3 (GO NOW!) evacuations are still in place in Whitman County at hooper to Rock Springs Road. People in the area need to leave immediately for your own safety.
Level 2 (GET SET) evacuations are in place for areas around Flemming Road and LaCrosse in Whitman County. Anyone who feels unsafe or needs extra time to evacuate should consider doing so in this area.
Level 1 (BE READY) evacuations are in place for Highway 127 to Central Ferry, including the area of Dusty.
As of the last update, the Lyons Ferry Fire is estimated to be 34,166 acres with 28% containment, the Devil’s Canyon Fire is 4,747 acres with 90% containment, the Wallace Walker Fire is 798 acres with 90% containment, and the Neff Jones Fire is 7,123 acres with 88% containment.
Firefighters will continue work to stop the fires from spreading and protect lives and property at risk.
Incident management says there have been no reports of structures being damaged in these fires. Two people were treated for burn injuries and released.
The cause of the fires are still under investigation.
