SPOKANE, Wash. — A familiar face in North Spokane is back! This time, with three new babies tagging along.
The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife says Moose 229 was spotted caring for triplets in north Spokane this year.
In 2024, Moose 229 was seen in north Spokane with one calf. Last year, she had twins with her. This year, she has been blessed with the rare sight of triplets!
For moose, backyards, parks and neighborhood green spaces with native trees, shrubs and plants can provide important forage and cover.
WDFW says while it knows people will be excited to see this little family, please give them plenty of room, slow down when driving in areas that wildlife are often found, and plant native vegetation to help wildlife thrive in our shared landscapes.
