KOOTENAI COUNTY, Idaho — The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office is warning people of a scam resurfacing in he community.
Last year, multiple people reported a crew of people going door-to-door, trying to sell driveway resurfacing services at a very low cost. Once the project was done, however, a member of the group would hand out a bill that was four times more than the initial estimate.
When the final bill was disputed, the sheriff’s office says the crew then used “bullying tactics” to get the desired amount.
The sheriff’s office says a similar group has recently been reported in Kootenai County.
If you believe you have been a victim of this scam or come into contact with the group, call the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office at 208-446-1300.
