SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) have arrested Mykola G. Rakovskyi, 21, who also goes by “Nick” or “Nicholas,” on two counts of first-degree child molestation.
According to SCSO, the investigation began in September 2024 when the FBI received an anonymous tip regarding Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) allegedly being posted online via Telegram by Rakovskyi.
The known victim in the case was 7 or 8 years old at the time of the alleged abuse.
Detectives discovered Rakovskyi used multiple digital platforms including Telegram, email accounts, and Instagram. They also recovered what they describe as “a large quantity of videos/images believed to be CSAM.”
Authorities are releasing photos of Rakovskyi and asking anyone who knows the suspect, has knowledge of his interactions with potential juvenile victims, or is aware of his online activities to contact Detective T. Keys at (509) 934-7831, referencing case number 24-10138496.
According to SCSO, Rakovskyi was booked into the Spokane County Jail on November 18, 2024, and is also being held on a Stevens County warrant for two additional counts of the same charge.
Rakovskyi’s total bond is set at $200,000.
