SEATTLE, Wash. – The Seattle Mariners have already fallen hard from the heights of an American League Championship Series Game 7 just a year ago, but their playoff odds aren’t totally shot… at least, not quite yet.
Seattle is 71-82 after beating the Los Angeles Angels last night, now six games behind the Houston Astros in the AL West race.
The Mariners’ elimination number shrinks to four, needing to avoid a combined four losses and Astros wins.
Seattle does own the tiebreaker over Houston, as well as
Seattle’s road back is possible, as they need to win six of their final nine games to have a shot, raising their playoff odds from 0.3% to 17%.
The M’s next play at the Colorado Rockies before hosting the Astros for two games and the Angels for four.
