SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — A woman died Saturday morning when her vehicle crashed off the road and erupted in flames in Spokane Valley.
The crash occurred at approximately 2:50 a.m. on September 5, 2026, near N. Sullivan Road and E. Broadway Avenue. Spokane Valley Deputies found an Acura extensively damaged and on fire in a grass swell on the east side of Sullivan Road.
Deputies made contact with the adult male passenger, but his injuries prevented him from providing a statement.
Spokane Valley Fire and EMS personnel extricated the driver and initiated life-saving efforts, but she was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The male passenger was transported to a local hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
The Spokane Valley Traffic Unit continues its investigation.
The Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the driver’s identity and cause of death at a later date.
