FERRY COUNTY, Wash. — The town of Inchelium is now without power and water due to the rapidly growing Modrite Fire in Ferry County.
According to incident command, the power and water outages is forcing firefighters to pull water from the nearby Columbia River.
The Modrite Fire grew to more than 22,000 acres overnight or around 35 square miles.

Firefighters anticipate another day of challenging weather Friday as the fire danger is expected to rise significantly Saturday.
Extras crews are also being pulled from the Bradeen Fire on the other side of the Columbia River in Stevens County to assist.
