SPOKANE, Wash.– The National Weather Service issued its most serious warning for fire weather conditions ahead of Saturday’s expected winds.
A PDS Red Flag Warning is in effect from 2 pm to 5 pm across the Inland Northwest. PDS stands for Particularly Dangerous Situation. PDS Warnings are only issued for the rarest and most extreme circumstances. This is the first one issued by the NWS Spokane office.
These conditions are a serious threat to your safety if a fire were to break out. Maintain awareness of your local conditions and be ready to respond to evacuation warnings from local authorities.
