SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. — A fire that crews feared would spread near the town of Marshall was knocked down Tuesday afternoon. It is located northeast of Cheney off Cheney Spokane Road.
Level 1 (Get Ready!) evacuations were issued for parts of the town due to the one to two acre fire. Air support was called in, but then canceled once firefighters were able to mostly put it out. SCFD 3 says water hoses were laid around the fire to extinguish the flames.
SCFD 10 and BLM fire crews also responded to the scene.
