SPOKANE, Wash. — More than 40 bars and restaurants in the Spokane area are taking part in this year’s Spokane Cocktail Week which kicks off Sunday.
During Spokane Cocktail Week, people can take part in classes, check out special events, and enjoy themed crafted drinks at participating spots.
Spokane Mayor Lisa Brown even declared Spokane Cocktail Week a local holiday.
For some bars, like Hogwash Whiskey Den in downtown Spokane, this gives our area a chance to show we can compete with larger cities.
“Our food and beverage scene here is fantastic, and it’s come a long, long way in the 20-some years I’ve been working it,” says Hogwash General Manager Erin Fasbender. “I think things like this are such an awesome way to showcase the amount of talent that we have here, as well as the amount of just hard work that people put into these things.”
The event is put on by Counter Culture Spokane which wanted a fun celebration for both cocktail enjoyers and industry pros.
Spokane Cocktail Week runs from today through next Sunday, June 7.
