SPOKANE, Wash – The convicted Spokane killer recently resentenced to life in prison says he’s appealing the sentence.
A judge sentenced Justin Crenshaw to life without parole in October for the 2008 murders of Sarah Clark and Tanner Pehl.
He was already serving a life sentence, but because of a change in state law, he had to be resentenced with his age at the time of the crime being considered.
During the sentence, Crenshaw lashed out at the judge, swearing at him and telling the judge, “Don’t forget to wipe your a**” with the ruling.
The new filing in Spokane County Superior Court just says that Crenshaw is seeking a review of the judgement and sentence by the Court of Appeals, but doesn’t say on what grounds.
Crenshaw previously appealed in his case, but that was dismissed.
In addition to the Spokane murders, Crenshaw killed a fellow inmate in Virginia and has attacked several other inmates during his time in prison.
When sentencing Crenshaw, Spokane County Judge Dean Chuang said, “If Mr. Crenshaw is released, he will kill again or at the very least, injure people.”
