Friday is a break between weather systems, with dry conditions and cooler temperatures than earlier in the week.
Expect highs in the upper 60s to mid 70s across the region with light winds. While most areas stay dry, there is a small chance for a lingering shower or storm in the northern Panhandle today.
A significant pattern change arrives Saturday evening in the form of widespread rain and gusty winds. Saturday will see north to northeast wind gusts between 25 and 35 mph in the afternoon, along with increasing cloud cover and a spotty chance of showers and thunderstorms in the evening.
Rain chances increase rapidly to over 90% Saturday night and will stay high for the majority of Sunday. Total rainfall amounts are likely to fall between 0.5 and 0.75 inches for the Spokane and Coeur d’Alene area between Saturday night and Monday morning; a real soaker! Temperatures will drop another 10 degrees, leaving us with highs in the upper 50s and low 60s for Sunday afternoon.
