OMAK, Wash. — Firefighters have completed a fire line around a wildfire burning near the Omak Airport.
According to the Northeast Washington Incident Team, the Greenacres Fire has burned about 1,000 acres, or about 1.5 square miles. Firefighters have gained 50% containment.
The fire has destroyed seven homes and damaged 13 structures.
Level 1 evacuations, meaning people should be aware of the fire, are still in effect around the area.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
