SPOKANE VALLEY – The Spokane Indians were scoreless until the ninth frame when they put up four runs, one run shy of the Eugene Emeralds, to fall 5-4 on Tuesday night’s series opener.
Alberto Pacheco started on the mound for Spokane and pitched five innings, allowing three runs and 4 strikeouts. Hunter Mann closed out for the Indians and pitched a scoreless ninth inning against the Emeralds, keeping that comeback attempt in reach.
Jesus Bugarin recorded 2 hits and 2 RBIs in 4 AB.
The Indians fall to a 39-43 record overall. The series continues Wednesday night at 6:35 p.m. in Avista Stadium.
