FORD, Wash. — A bicyclist was hit by a car and killed in Stevens County Tuesday afternoon.
According to Washington State Patrol, 53-year-old David James of Ford was driving his bike in the southbound shoulder on Highway 231 near Ford.
Troopers say James went to cross the road to the northbound shoulder and was hit by a northbound vehicle.
James was life flighted to Sacred Heart where he later died. WSP says the cause of the crash was James’ failure to yield.
The driver of the car was not injured.
